What happens if new hires aren't reported?
Failure to report newly hired or recalled workers may result in the assessment of a $25.00 penalty for each newly hired or recalled worker not reported. To avoid citations and fines, please report all newly hired or recalled workers. A recalled worker is an employee who seperated greater than 60 consecutive days and was recalled to work; if seperated a year or more and returned, please report as newly hired, not recalled. Report dates for workers previously employed should be the date the worker last began work. Untimely reports of new or recalled workers must still be submitted up to a year (12 months from the worker's start to work date) as the information, though late, is still needed by Health and Human Services. If greater than 12 months, the system will reject the date. Please be aware that late reports may still result in citations and fines.
