Funding Received Through the Stimulus Program
Expansion of Trade Adjustment Assistance Program –
The ARRA includes a major expansion and reform of this program to ensure that all U.S. workers negatively affected by trade have the skills, resources and support to gain new employment. |

Extension of Emergency Unemployment Compensation Program –
The ARRA provided for additional benefits under this program for those who qualify through an extension of the period of eligibility. |

Increase in Unemployment Compensation Benefits –
The ARRA provided for $25 weekly supplement to the unemployment compensation of eligible claimants. |

Special Transfer for Unemployment Compensation Administration –
The ARRA provided for this “special transfer” to each state to be used for certain administrative services. Currently Alabama Department of Labor is using the transfer for the following allowable services: the improvement of UC benefit and tax operations, including responding to increased demand for UC; and staff-assisted reemployment services for UC claimants. |

The ARRA provided for additional employment and training workforce funding to greatly increase the capacity of the workforce system to serve workers in need. |

Interest Free Loan
for Trust Fund Deficit -
Advance under Title XII, SSA - Temporarily waives interest payments on advances
to state unemployment funds until December 31, 2010. |
