Opelika Career Center to Host Job Fair for Displaced MasterBrand Employees

OPELIKA – Following this week’s unexpected closure of MasterBrand Cabinets, a cabinet manufacturer located in Auburn, an emergency response job fair will be held to provide employment opportunities to displaced workers. The job fair will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Southern Union State Community College, New Business & Technology Center, in the Southern Room, located at 301 Lake Condy Road, Opelika, AL.

“The Alabama Career Center System stands ready to assist these displaced workers in any way we can,” said Fitzgerald Washington, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Labor, which manages the Alabama Career Center System. “Hosting this job fair is just one of the ways we hope to be able to assist these employees in getting back on their feet. If any of the employees have any other questions, or would like assistance regarding other employment programs, I urge them to contact their local Career Center.”
There is no fee to attend the job fair, and pre-registration is NOT required. Jobseekers should dress professionally, be prepared to interview, and bring multiple copies of their résumés. The mobile Career Center will be on location, should jobseekers need assistance with their résumés.
