ONLINE JOB ADS IN APRIL UP 9.5% FROM LAST YEAR
Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons, and Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers are the Top Jobs in April.
MONTGOMERY - Data collected and analyzed by the Alabama Department of Labor’s Labor Market Information (LMI) Division shows that in April 2023, there were 125,619 job ads posted in Alabama.
The five occupations with the most online job ads are for Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons, Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers, Fast Food and Counter Workers, and Sales Reps, Wholesale & Manufacturing, with 17,291 ads placed for those occupations in April.
The HWOL data is compiled from all online job postings in the state, including those posted on the state’s free online jobs database, AlabamaWorks.alabama.gov, and other sources, such as traditional job boards, corporate boards, and social media sites.
In April 2023, there were 45,489 total job ads with salaries, including 12,285 jobs ads with salaries of $70,000 and above; 7,732 jobs ads with salaries in the $50-69,000 range; 11,333 jobs ads with salaries in the $35-50,000 range, and 14,139 jobs ads with salaries less than $35,000.
The top two employers posting the most online ads in April were Walmart with 1,542 and Huntsville Hospital with 1,249. The rest of the top 10 were: UAB Medicine (1,067), The University of Alabama Birmingham (846), Auburn University (723), Regions (642), Baptist Health (603), Walgreens (507), The University of Alabama (499), and Lowe’s (485).
