INITIAL UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS FOR WEEK ENDING 6/27/2020
MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Department of Labor released the official count for initial claims filed during the week of June 21-June 27, 2020.
18,340 initial claims were filed either online or by telephone during this period. 11,119 of those claims are COVID-19 related.

Industries with the most number of claims are: Industry Not Available (6,516), followed by Administrative and Support Services (1,656), Food Service and Drinking Places (1,441), Transportation Equipment Manufacturing (807), General Merchandise Stores (479), Nursing and Residential Care Facilities (376), and Educational Services (375).
Jefferson County had largest number of claims with 2,626.
